Blizzard's game art has always been fantastic. But this Diablo 4 was the most fantastic and wonderful. I want to be a great artist like you. It was really nice to know your work process. I would be very happy to upload such great videos from Blizzard, where fantastic artists are working.

Pls fix the ugly colours that you copied from D3. Dark and gritty doesn't mean the game needs ugly colours. Dark and gritty means underground areas should have NO LIGHT. I want to be surprised by unseen enemies round the corner. No weird ambient glows lighting up all enemies from 1km away. This is not a baby cartoon trying to highlight what an animal looks like. Edit: also, the game should not be able to run on integrated graphics. Give us real graphics that run only on 30x cards and above.
Please, give keyboard and mouse support on consoles!
An ability idea for you. With the burrowing you could make it a challenge for the player to not know if its the spider or its spiderlings that come up from the ground. As in the Hive Mother has laid eggs underground, because she is constantly producing them. Maybe the longer the first phase, the one where the hive mother has the egg sac attached, lasts she lays more eggs and then she could spawn more monsters from burrows later or more burrows simultaneously, making the difficulty harder.
Ideas are so important! Everybody seems to skip this step and go directly to the drawing board out of fear of not making a deadline or filling in the hours... I cherish the moment when I read a small quote from a family member of Frank Frazetta, in one of the introductions to his work... Said that whenever Frank was having a commission to do, even if it was due in a day, he would spent most of that day away from his canvas, just thinking and gathering information. Frank's genius was that he could make a mental image inside his head of what he wanted to achieve and then had the skill to execute it... So his actual work of finishing a complete oil painting, only took him a few hours, most of the time for a couple of hours during night time. So be wise and spend your time perfecting your skills and tools beforehand, so that the only thing bothering you, when doing the actual work, is the idea, the anatomy and the story behind your drawing ;) . Please, just keep it DARK. No more warcraft like cartoonish look. Dark, scary and depressing atmosfere. That should be the focus.
i love this kind of work, and i appreciate you showing it, but it's such a letdown to see that you guys just recycle old ideas from movies so much. the games really feel like it, we've seen it all before somewhere - and to hear you guys talk about it, you're just bringing up aliens, tremors, starship troopers, etc. you aren't saying it, but all your ideas are hashed. i really think you guys need to go farther. i know it's just a job, but if we've seen it on tv, it CAN NOT surprise us truly. video games as an art form isn't going to develop until the artists really push the envelope. And yes the engineers will complain, but it's their problem to make it work, it's your job to design crazy ideas in the clear blue sky. if you can't dream it, the technical people are most likely not going to make it better than what you saw in your imagination

So far what has been shown of the game is not in the spirit of Diablo. Do not preorder! I have 0 faith but hope to be proven wrong

So funny how people whine about there being no old blizz vets left at blizzard, and yet we have multiple people who have worked at blizzard for 15-20 years and worked on d2 who are working on all the new diablo projects.
One or two is nothing. Stop making excuses. These people are like they have been sucked up in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and replaced with husks. That's how cringe this company is. They are non-living animated dead.
15 or 20 years seems like a lot if you're 20 or 30, but not when youre 50-60 the age of the original blizzard people
Maybe including Rob Sevilla and John Muellers names in the discription would have been a nice way to show respect for the artists I love this kind of content, please give us more

I would love to see more concept Art of creatures (about the past Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Diablo 3 and Diablo 4). Does blizzard entertainment published some of this arts to Public?
"The Art of Diablo" book (and the ones that come from Collectors editions etc all have tons of concept art and stuff.

I'm an "artist" and world builder without a home. Seeing this guys process and techniques is like listening to an old friend. When he popped up the fertility fetish for inspiration on shape language: "This is de way". I'd like nothing more than to find some of those concept/ideation discord servers with such rich ideas and strong participants. Lovely vid.

the concept of "family" monster i think grounds the creatures in the world and is a chance to specific design carry itself a little more

It's an Eldritch monster! So far, most of monster designs in D4 look so much an eldritch monster.
some of the monsters are straight out of D3 which doesn't fit the theme of the D4 it sucks

Diablo 2 Resurrected and Diablo IV are definitely good direction for Diablo series! I can't wait to get into them and fight with monsters like Hive mother :) Team DIV: don't rush, we can wait but give us a true Diablo's terror! :D THX
Stage 1 of boss fight can be Picture A, and Stage 2 of boss fight she can rip herself out of that thing and be Picture B.

Its great to see and learn from this as an artist.
Why everyone is being scared of spiders? Like, come on! They are just little creatures and there's plenty of room in outer space to move out.
But still, you gotta appreciate the details of this world boss monster, right?

This series is for people that are interested in the process of creating a game from the perspective of the artists, which is actually very fascinating to many fans of the franchise. It's also a genius level PR move, giving fans a deeper look into the universe they love enough to dump hundreds of hours of their lives into.

The D3 cartoony horror spirit still seems to be present in a lot of monsters, flipping colour palettes and making some pointier does not mean it is darker. (the Hive Mother art was nice though)
Was disappointed to hear them talk about making colors "pop" ...we don't really want that, that's probably the biggest issue people had with Diablo 3 besides reduced gore...everything was bright and saturated and different colors.
@TheMauiWaui℠ I would never EVER play any diablo game, not even Diablo 3: hello kitty adventure, on shrooms. Woah! I can not imagine that being a good trip, especially since I always pay close attention to the gruesome stories these games are telling constantly. 😝
Contrasting various elements to make certain styles "pop" doesn't always mean bright shiny colors.
I played a good chunk of Diablo III RoS while on mushrooms with a friend, and one of the few things I still remember from those sessions is... "purple" 🤣🤣🤣 so you're probably right
I don't even think it was just the colours (in fact them popping wasn't an issue, it was more like which tone of specific colour they have chosen), it was also the chunkiness and cartoony aspect of the monsters. Not actually scary, but leaning into more Halloween cartooniness.
This was awesome to watch and Part 2 just arrived!
The atmosphere in Diablo games make the grind bearable. Make the game dark, unholy, and gruesome.
When I see people say stuff like this, I get sad. Dude, if the game for you is only bearable, then please do something else that you will enjoy. Stop wasting your time.
I wish Activision would go in the opposite direction actually. I want more Rainbows, moon beams and sunshine in my Diablo universe. Pretty please. 🙏

All this is good...but, d2 remake art style and visuals are the best thing i ever seen. I think d2 remake will be 10/10 on metascore, games looks and feels what diablo games should look like. Such amaizing art. Srry d4 but i prefer d2 😊 respect to blizzard.
Long the road you should build a class as rebel demon with own skills,badass skill=calling massive hoards of demons under his control or one big demon summon for 1 min and destroy everything on its path or control the boss it self for 10 sec,almost as necromancer but totally own skill tree and gear:)Can't wait for the game to come out and allrdy bought D2 remaster as a long Diablo player since 1996 until today:)

I wish they bring back the corpse spitter. It's so unique that when there's a dead monster, it eats the body and spits it on you hahahaha or hephasto the armorer.
